Synopsis

Predmet: Hrvatski knjiga je nastala povodom pripreme izložbe o nastavnom predmetu Hrvatski jezik. Sadrži 41 autorski prilog, kojima je obuhvaćena vanjska i unutrašnja povijest nastavnoga predmeta na cijeloj obrazovnoj okomici, od prvoga razreda osnovne škole do završnoga razreda srednje škole. U uvodnom dijelu naznačen je povijesni i društveni kontekst važan za razumijevanje šire uloge hrvatskoga jezika, kao i za sam nastavni predmet u vremenu njegove uspostave. Druga cjelina obuhvaća razdoblje Austro-Ugarske Monarhije, treća Kraljevine SHS odnosno Jugoslavije i NDH, četvrta vrijeme FNR/SFR Jugoslavije, a peta razdoblje od osamostaljenja Hrvatske i uvođenja promjena koje nagovješćuju kurikulske pristupe. Unutar tako postavljena kronološkog okvira podjela je provedena prema dvama predmetnim područjima, jezičnoj i književnoj pouci, s kojima se prepleću pitanja metoda i načina poučavanja. Predmet: Hrvatski prvi je pregled povijesti nastave Hrvatskoga jezika, a s obzirom na važnost predmeta i njegove dosege i izvan učionica, kroz knjigu se prelama i povijest hrvatske kulture.

Author Biographies

Ana Ćavar, University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

She graduated in Croatian Language and Literature and Hispanic Studies and earned her PhD at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She is an associate professor at the Chair of Croatian Language and Literature Teaching Methodology in the Department of Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Since 2009, she has also taught at the Chair of Spanish Language in the Department of Romance Studies at the same faculty. Her research interests focus on the acquisition of Croatian as a first and non-native language, and Spanish as a foreign language, with particular emphasis on the development of reading competence, as well as on the historical development of language and literature teaching methodology.

Her publications include the monograph Konteksti čitanja: razumijevanje i sociokulturno znanje and Hrvatski školski frazeološki rječnik, co-authored with I. Vidović Bolt. Together with L. Plejić Poje, she edited the catalogue Predmet: Hrvatski and the volume Hrvatski jezik: povijest i uloge nastavnog predmeta. She also co-edited the volume U riječi hrvatskoj.

Together with Lahorka Plejić Poje, she is the co-author of the exhibition Predmet: Hrvatski, which was first held at the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb from November 2021 to January 2022 and later presented at the Ethnographic Museum in Dubrovnik (August–September 2022) and the Vukovar City Museum (April–June 2023). In September 2026, the travelling version of the exhibition was displayed at the European Parliament in Brussels. She launched the website www.predmet-hrvatski.com, which she co-edits with L. Plejić Poje. In 2021, the authors received the Ivan Filipović Award in the category of scholarly and professional work for the exhibition and its catalogue. She is head of the Section for Croatian Language and Literature Teaching Methodology of the Croatian Philological Society.

Lahorka Plejić Poje, University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

She is a professor at the Chair of Early Croatian Literature in the Department of Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She has prepared three editions of manuscript works of early Croatian literature (Lukrecija Bogašinović, Djela, Zadar, 2007; Antun Gleđević, Pjesni slane, Zagreb, 2013; Pjesmarica Nikole Šafrana, with Jasmina Lukec, Zagreb, 2020). She has edited three volumes of scholarly papers and prepared an edition of Ignjat Đurđević’s Izabrana djela. Her scholarly monograph Zaman će svaki trud: ranonovovjekovna satira na hrvatskom jeziku u Dubrovniku (Zagreb, 2012) won the Annual Award of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

From 2012 to 2014, she was head of the Department of Croatian Language and Literature. She served two terms as head of the Literature Section of Matica hrvatska. Since 2017, she has been a member of the editorial board of Matica hrvatska’s series Stoljeća hrvatske književnosti. From 2017 to May 2021, she was a member of the Council for Books, Publishing and Bookselling of the Ministry of Culture. She is the author of numerous scholarly and popular science articles, as well as contributions to the educational programmes of Croatian Television and Croatian Radio.

Together with Ana Ćavar, she is the co-author of the exhibition Predmet: Hrvatski (Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, Zagreb, November 2021 – January 2022; Ethnographic Museum, Dubrovnik, August–September 2022; Vukovar City Museum, Vukovar, April–June 2023). The authors received the Ivan Filipović Award in the category of scholarly and professional work for the exhibition and its catalogue.
