Synopsis

Superiornost statusa intelektualaca a zapravo kulture i znanosti naprije treba biti moralna superiornost, koja mora imati utemeljenje u znanju, u dobroj obaviještenosti, a potom i u superiornom, riskantnom zadatku. Koji je to zadatak? Da stoje iza svoje interpretacije činjenica. Da opslužuju, poslužimo se već zlorabljenim izrazom, održivu istinu – onu koja je najbliža stvarnosti i kojoj je cilj da potraje, da bude oslonac, možda baš najviše onima koji dolaze. Nakon interpretacije slijedi još jedan izazov: komunikacija u ime svih oblika razmjene (kako ih objašnjava marketing), za potrebe korisnika.

Author Biography

Tomislav S. Šola, Odsjek za informacijske i komunikacijske znanosti, Filozofski fakultet Sveučilišta u Zagrebu

Tomislav Sladojević Šola was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1948. He studied architecture and journalism in Zagreb, museology in Zagreb and Paris, finished art history and English language in Zagreb and made his PhD (“Towards the Total Museum”, 1985) in Ljubljana. Starting the career as a museum curator he then became director and finally attained full professor tenure at University of Zagreb. He has served two mandates as ICOM National Committee chairman (Yugoslavia) and later became member of Executive council of ICOM. He has occupied position of Head of Department of Information Sciences, held Chair of Museology at the University of Zagreb and was teaching as invited professor at seven universities abroad. He was a member of the jury of EMYA and head of a jury and Council member at Europa Nostra. He has presented papers at some hundred conferences, wrote eight books, contributed chapters in nine books, published about 250 articles and delivered about 330 hours of lecturing as invited lecturer, mostly internationally. He has founded "The Best in Heritage" conference, worked as consultant in 14 projects, conceived many others (www.globallovemuseum.net, www.mnemosophy.comwww.bridgesofeurope.com  etc.), and, now in retirement from university, continue to consult, write and lecture internationally.
